Pret a Diner

I've been stalking the interwebs for interesting international happenings (per usual) and I've found a fun dining experience (a bit on the costly side) that has landed in Berlin for the next eleven days. From there, it's touring locations from London to Miami... It combines Art and Live performance and great food (apparently). It looks interesting, and follows the trend of "pop-up"... things.

Travel Guide Videos -Next Station

These guys have an amazing video travel guide website. Very simple, but beautiful filming and nice typography. PLUS they give you a map of all the places they visited in the video (Websites, addresses and all!)

http://travelguidevideos.tv/

Enjoy!

And more Videos...

I love these videos. They're done by a travel organization called EF (Education First). They really capture the joy of traveling, and also (from personal experience) the wonder of being a foreign exchange student. As a side note, I think that more videos should be done with integrated text like this; I think it would be an interesting and fun way to learn a language.

Meet a local Dubliner...

.... And get a free beer! As part of their hospitality and tourism program, Dublin welcomes first time visitors by pairing them with a knowledgeable local ... who takes you out for a beer. I know that when I'm traveling, sometimes the hardest part is making that first 'connection'. I love to meet new people. And I love it when people want to meet (talk with) me. (Ireland was one of my favorite places to travel because EVERYONE talks to you!)

Awesome Articles

The BBC has a great travel section with some 'insider' articles on some great things.

For example, this one: http://www.bbc.com/travel/blog/20130131-paris-cutting-edge-music-scene

Grizzly Bear is playing. What!?

Some Videos

As part of my current job working for the Education Abroad Center, I did some research on travel videos that could get students excited about traveling abroad. Here's one of my favorites;

... And now my blog is an add for STA travel. They DO have amazing videos though! Doesn't it give you that feeling in the pit of your stomach?! I just want to jump out and run out the door with my backpack. Alas. Have to get that degree first (only, what? Four more months??)

Also, on STA. They're a great resource if you're looking for great deals on airfare for students, teachers, and young adults. Seriously.

I'm not traveling.

I'm not traveling right now. Which is very sad. Anyway. This blog is a place for me to post things when I am traveling, but also a space for travel/adventure related gobbeldygook.

A little bit about myself... I'm about to graduate from University and I am scared out of my mind. I'm half English and half Euro/American mutt. I lived in Bologna, Italy for a year. I also lived in Hong Kong for three years. I've worked on farms and in Education Abroad Centers and in Buddhist Sanctuaries. I have a dog named Jack, and a fish named Oliver. I love to speak Italian, and drawing pictures. Travel is my greatest passion.

And I love gelato. I reaaallly love gelato.
